Except you would waste time and attention triggering it - and it’s probably too slow to block you before you’d be caught by the cameras anyway. Plus, every red light camera I’ve gotten hit by does video of a few seconds before and after, so they’d catch this doing its thing, and *REALLY* bust you.
California also has goofy laws - if it’s a recent purchase, you just have to have the registration and bill of sale in the car; you don’t have to display any form of registration. So Jobs would just buy a new car (same model) every few months so the car was always within that grace period...
