Common sense is rather uncommon in our world today.

I looked up a YouTube segment, based on the search parameter given, and all I got was George Carlin joking about religion. That turned me off.

Those two Superman ads were cut on 3/20/2011. That is quite a long time ago and I am hoping these were cheap "1 and done" mock-ups. I hope the actual toys are better for today's kiddies.

I don't want to know what it says about me but I had to go look after I read you comment. Thanks for the laugh.

I am a late bloomer with "Ender's Game" having just read it earlier this year. I loved it even though it was somewhat predictable. As it has FTL travel (or at the very least FTL communication), I would say no, not hard science fiction. But what do I know.

I think a lot of writers want to be considered "HARD" Science Fiction writers; thus they try to include some quantum "hand-wavium" into the book to give a feel that, "Hey, yes, you could do [x] that way!" when traditional science says "Nope, not gunna happen."

A great example of what IS NOT "Hard Science Fiction" is the image used at the top of this post; the windows, wings and engine thrust make it appear that there is artificial gravity at work. This is the most common type of 'hand-wavium", second only to FTL drives and thus disallows itself to be called "Hard" Science

I know you put it in quotes for a reason, but "hit movie" made me laugh. Sean Young and Nick Cage doing the Top Gun thing, but with helicopters.

Redmond does not put out a LOT of junk hardware. They build software that tries to run on a multiplicity of different hardware specs. That is the amazing thing about MS. Apple should have better integration of hard and software since they are building both. I always laugh at Apple fanboyz for forgetting this simple

The RT runs on a similar chip set as Android, thus manufacturing is easier with RT. The Pro will run on an Intel design and that is new for Intel and the OEM's. It will take longer to bring it to market.

Lowercase "c" in catholic refers to Latin for "universal" without religious overtones. Uppercase "C" in Catholic includes religious overtones.

Okay, from memory or did you look up the quote? I believe it is spot on.

Does not exist in nature. Plastic is synthetic, for example. The parts to make it exist in nature, but do not combine naturally to have plastic (or element 113) exist.

Breaking news. Boners are everywhere! In a not unrelated story, news arrives that. men's erect penises are too small to be seen in today's trousers. Film at 11!

While I understand your point, the difference is emotional shock and awe. For instance, in "Freakonomics" by economist Steven Levitt, the point is made that if you want to save more childrens' lives each year, ban backyard pools rather than individual gun ownership. More children die in the US from drowning in pools

First World Problem

From MDI's website, they explain that the compressed air is quite cold when expelled, so cold air and A/C is not a problem. A heater for northern climates, however... And I really cannot see this in the snow either.

Our sun is considered a third or perhaps fourth generation star. It takes the heat and pressure of a star to create more complex elements beyond helium. Google "five nucleon crevasse", "Alpha-Beta- Gamma Paper" or read "Big Bang" by Simon Singh, pages 323 to 326. As Carl Sagan told us, "We are all made of star

Bruce always had me with great phrases from Evil Dead and Army of Darkness like, "Come get some", "Give me some sugar, baby" and "Yo, She-bitch... Let's go." While I feel the point you are making, John struck me as more "GQ" about his lines (sidebar: it's a sad fact that I cannot quote any of his lines right now)
