I think The Hurt Locker is great, I just prefer ZDT. Both films are miles ahead of other similar Bush Jr/Obama-era films anyway

I can’t do my list properly until I see Parasite at least in February. As of now, Her would be my no. 1 with other top 10 contenders including The Social Network, A Separation, The Wolf of Wall Street, Zero Dark Thirty, I Wish, Inside Out, Manchester by the Sea, Mustang, Dunkirk, Roma and Eighth Grade
Good list but Her is about 50 places too low
Sorry but that’s absolute nonsense, Zero Dark Thirty does none of those things. It’s easily the best film made about the Bush Jr era
Er...this is nothing like Song of the South. I mean it’s a terrible song, but it’s not about raping people and it never has been
The biggest comedy film of the year begins with a kid masturbating. It’s almost as if ‘you can’t do any comedy any more for fear of offending people!’ is a nonsense argument which doesn’t bear the slightest relation to reality.
I like Paul Dano, but he really seems to love doing films where his character gets beaten up
I mean, the media didn’t really care about this stuff for 27 years, not really surprising if the public in general are rather indifferent to the media suddenly caring about it now.
Some of the comments here are using the existence of endemic racism in society as an excuse to be sneering and shitty about a guy who was falsely accused of a terrible crime and who died at the age of just 44. Take a look at yourselves guys, glad there’s been some more even-handed comments at least since I saw this…
Looking forward to this, though it has D Cinemascore grade written all over it (‘where’s the action the promos promised?!’)
Aside from First Reformed and While We’re Young, has Amanda Seyfried done any good films since Mean Girls?
But when are we going to get justice for Mews?! I hope his ghost haunts Dustin forever.
The Contest. Just a genius concept which they carry off perfectly.
Because it’s genius. It’d be like chucking The Searchers on the scrapheap becaause of John Wayne
So long as we get more of Zendaya being a successor to Daria (the Washington Monument bit in Homecoming is hilarious) then I’m happy
It’s really good! As mentioned Jessie Buckley is going to be a big star, she’s terrific in this
Good news, though alas Eyes on Me has been left off the FFVIII soundtrack
Dark Phoenix aka Bryan Singer didn’t direct this one we really dodged a bullet there huh
Seems fair enough, I’d say the show is still pretty good but best to not let it drag on now. And hopefully we’ll get some more great Jared moments in those last few episodes.
I think him and Barbara Windsor (who sadly now has dementia) are about the only two still alive
