I wish I could give you more stars. I can’t understand why going backwards is considered “Making America Great Again”.

Bonnet the boxer and her brother Kurt. Riding in her boxer-engined Subaru Forester, of course.

The naughtiest picture you’ve posted so far!

You’re right. GM, Chrysler, and the domestic oil companies should pay us all back for the money they still owe.

Don’t misquote me. That is NOT what I said: “But a significant portion of the transportation solution already exists.” My original post.

What is not even a complete sentence much less an argument? (I love Jeopardy!)

Dude, in those conditions, most people aren’t even able to drive (as your picture illustrates). Besides, those winter storms aren’t the norm.

That’s easy, don’t take steroids. There will always be another energy storage medium on the horizon with its own downsides. My point is we need to supplement (ha!) them with the one that doesn’t have as much impact.

Wow, it’s great that people list their own personal reasons for choosing how they get around, but your statement is just plain wrong. Period. I’d be happy to debate if you qualified or quantified any or all of that statement, but as it is, bullshit! Besides, did you even bother to think about the point I was making?

“Bikes are good for short trips, but can’t replace a car for longer trips.” Not entirely true, but yes bicycles, like electric cars, do not have the practical range of petrol powered machines. And before you say “but the infrastructure just needs to catch up!” that is a large part of the issue with bicycle

To all the people that responded to Nate, /s means sarcasm. Welcome to the internet.

Well, Alex, assuming the category is “Shit that Happens” I will go with: Who gives a fuck?

Now playing

I’ve seen the clip before. It satirizes the type of person that believes there is only one right answer. But in the spirit of debate, I will offer up satire of my own:

Near Boston! Great I did too! I found riding wasn’t too bad. I lived in Waltham and Bedford. I had to take my tools with me everywhere I went so rarely commuted to work, but usually rode for any errands. I discovered so much around the metro by not taking the main roads.

Pittsburgh? The home of Bicycle Times magazine? Hmmm....

For all the reasons people have listed to not ride here are a few reasons TO ride:

Funny. When I was about 16 or so I left my lights on on my Jeep and ran the battery down. I had my bike on the back so I rode home, grabbed the battery out of my brother’s Scout, and rode back with it on the rack. A car battery on top of a rear bike rack makes for some weird handling at speed. Today, cell phones

Thank you for realizing I am correct. It feels good when someone opens their mind to all the great ways to get around.

This has precisely zero to do with the point I was making and doesn’t add anything to the debate. This is not about dividing people up into categories.

Cute, yet you still haven’t approached the cost of a years worth of gasoline. Its a good thing cars aren’t stolen.
