Totally agree. For upper end utility and off-roading, frames and solid axles are still better. But unibody is better for everyday driving. It’s precisely why I’m going back to a Forester and getting rid of my Xterra. (That, and boxer 4 >>>>> V6)

Good point but you have to be careful. I would not buy a timing belt kit there anymore. Some maintenance things are fine, but timing belt kits are best from the dealer. I recently bought a “name brand” kit that I had luck with previously, and the parts were not the same. Another example of “leveraging a brand”…

Don’t be so quick to judge it based on oil leaks. I worked on a project at an art museum once where they had new 911 and a real Speedster parked next to each other. This was a very, very, nice Speedster. Yet it still had a drip pan under it.

Should be about right under the current administration.
