Prior to its near ruination by the film, this had the honor of being the first and only comic book to give me nightmares. It was something unnerving that seemed to creep up on me as I read it that I still cannot completely explain.

Dispelled a lot of the mythos of "Good Wars."

Somebody needs to saddle up and take it for a spin.

Via plastic surgery and severe personality deficits, I believe there are a lot of celebrities (e.g. Kardashians, etc.) who have been bridging humans backwards and have depreciated what constitutes a real person, who may have filled the valley with their particular brand of refuse.

Future Noire is a great book about the making of Blade Runner- warts and all.

As is the Battle of Brazil with regards to Terry Gilliam's Brazil, which was also production and especially post-production controversial.

Definitely the Flintstones' Gazoo was a grave oversight.

Any djinni's from any depiction of Aladdin's Lamp should be mentioned, inc. Robin Williams.

I always thought the Watcher (Marvel Comics) was kind of an un-interfering bastards. I'm pretty sure a lot of Kirby characters, e.g. the New Gods, etc. should be alluded.

Pretty obscure references, but I found some of the Werewolf transformations of 'Company of Wolves' more frightening than the ones listed and I saw it after many of the aforementioned. (Kudos on Pinnochio.)

YES!

Lovecraft^^. Stephen King. Michael Crichton and- if we're getting all historic- Poe.

If you subscribe to the theory of human pheromones, then the baby's fontanelle may release a pheromone which triggers an endorphin release, calming and bonding the parent.

Beyond the geeky nature of Tron there is also this spiritual/religious subtext.
