I agree Loretta confessing was hasty, I think she panicked that Dickie would be arrested and the fact that she’d finally gotten close to her son and he might be taken away from her made her do it.

Streep lived up to her rep this episode, for damn sure. I also liked how the other on-stage actors were allowed to enjoy Steve Martin’s patter song, in character.
