The real answer is, don’t spend or make money in bigoted, ignorant places like Malaysia, Dubai or fucking Florida. Don’t hide behind your “culture” as a shield for your hate. Human sacrifice used to be “culture”.

thats numero una to you cadet. the ready room episode was good too. the riker thing with the saddle was funny as shit. and it was adlibbed with frakes standing right there directing the episode. wil wheaton loved that move and that they left it in there.
Just listened to the Camp Damascus audiobook this weekend on a road-trip with my girlfriend (she’s a librarian). It’s all more genuinely scary, more laugh-out-loud funny, and more seriously moving than I would have guessed possible. And it would make one hell of a movie.
But that’s kind of the point of the movie - that Ken (and by extension, the modern American man) is put in an untenable position where he’s told by the system that his entire worth as a man rest in his ability to get a woman as his girlfriend. He doesn’t even know what to do with a girlfriend, he just needs to have…
“Is it a pinup poster?!”
Bob Odenkirk was right there, he’s a comic.
Frakes coining “Spoimler” on Ready Room on the Spock/Boimler bromance. Frakes’ wife screaming upon hearing the ad-libbed “Riker”. Also Nariner’s “Hot Spock” line. Such fun.
Hard to say what’s the best part...but part of it HAS to be the double meta reference for Una’s poster—-Ransom’s comment and Una’s outrage over being thinking she was a pin-up girl, given Rominjin’s history as a SI Swimsuit model.
I hope this wins a Hugo so that he can have Hugo-winner Chuck Tingle on every book cover.
For the love of deities, please allow Adult Swim to operate under the radar from Zaslav’s notice/interference.
I liked how the only masculine character to reject toxic masculinity and projection, Alan, was also the only person who knew how to fight. All the Kens acted tough but didn’t understand what fighting was or meant.
It taught me a very valuable lesson that I will cherish for the rest of my life;
Everything I have seen from the game makes it look like a game for me to sink 120h in and then for unknown reasons stop before even finishing the main story.
Very impressive that they got almost the whole cast back together for it
I don’t know about others, but I don’t go looking at media companies for validation of my fandom. I’ll buy Prodigy Blu-Ray because I genuinely like the show and want to make sure I can keep watching it. If the sales boost the chances of some other network picking up season 2, all the better.
As the 50th anniversary of TOS was nearing back in 2016, I decided to watch every episode of it on the episodes’ 50th anniversaries, 90% of the episodes for the first time (which, yes, took until June 2019 to finish). I’ve been debating doing the same with TAS.
Right where they want you to be.
