I think GM looked at their Volt sales, then looked at Tesla sales, and thought "Gee, there are lot more morons in the upper price bracket". Voila - ELR.

I think the request was for a 'level headed' explanation. If you are unable to imagine the beliefs of the other side, please do not attempt to do so as it just makes you look foolish. But the article was fairly well written, so there's that :)

At least he is friends with Ryan Gosling. That has to count for something.

5th Gear: Thank God.

Now playing

I think it brings a nice balance to this:

I just didn't understand the line "Limping through the alleys". Do giants limp? What?

The Autobahn sign part disturbed me most. Showing that while saying ".. the inspiration for the rest of the world" implies the Autobahn came after the Interstate Highway System - which, of course, it didn't.

Where's Concubine?

Actually I do have a beef with SOME of the computers used in cars these days - the upcoming black-box regulations for one. I'm giving serious thought to sponsoring some sort of competition for the best car hack for that one (black hats at DEFCON?)

You could have just titled this piece "Why you shouldn't bother reading Yahoo! Autos".

Thanks! I was surprised every Porsche rep on the booth didn't have that stat on the tip of his/her tongue as I assumed it would be the first question everyone would ask. And likely they did, but I happened to ask the only three people who didn't know :)

It is phenomenally cool to watch in person. But I couldn't get an answer to my question "How much weight does it add?". I'm sure it is not a secret, just nobody seemed to know the answer!

I think this is an interesting article. But one thing is just plain wrong: "Madowitz works with the Center for American Progress, a non-partisan think tank."

I'm going to Detroit with my checkbook. Seriously. If I can put a deposit down on Monday, I will.

Unless you understand Korean, watching it on mute doesn't lessen your understanding of the vid. What I 'think' is happening is that if you approach the car from the rear with the key fob, the car 'guesses' you want the trunk opened for you after a few seconds. The flashing is apparently a warning that the car is about

I'm wondering if this will effect a change in rental policy. If they have a key drop box it is implied that the vehicle has been 'returned', and thus not in the renter's possession. Was the renter saving money (i.e. reducing the rental duration) by returning the car to Enterprise? If she was, by definition AND policy

On the 2004-2006 models the delete option was even better - the trunk for the WRX was a one to one swap! The only downside was the springs for the STi were so much more powerful (they had to lift the weight of the huge wing) you had to replace those as well. I left the old springs in, and have had to either open the

I don't know if they will offer a wing delete option, but I will know on Monday after I meet with them at NAIAS Detroit. Stay tuned :)

I can't explain it, but for me the wing seems to fix some of the problems I have with the rear-half design. Weird, as I removed the wing from my 2004 for exactly the same reason…..

Contriving a scenario with the intent of provoking an emotional reaction to further an agenda usually means the agenda is flawed and can't stand on it's own. Emotional manipulation is the last refuge of a poor argument.
