We had a 2013 passat tdi sel that we bought for over 30k, same scenario - this deal sucks, especially since we have to now split pay out with shop that bought our car in april. Garbage for late model owners, great for low mileage garage sitting earlier models.

Thats the rub for the original owners that felt like they needed to get out from cars with no fixes in site - they now have to split restitution with people that may have bought their cars only couple months ago. I see why people are so fired up about it.
