Per Bob Woodward’s book, Graham aligned himself with Trump in an effort to try to shape Trump’s views on foreign policy and the military (eg getting him to take a harder line against Assad and doubling down in Afghanistan), and this started over a year before McCain died.

To be honest, they got me pretty good. Lindsay Graham seemed genuinely angry/rattled, and I didn’t pick up that he was mugging for the camera.

Look, we all have our different viewpoints on this controversial and sensitive issue. All I’m saying is that there are fine people on both sides of the debate, very, very fine people, and a lot of them have said that a lot of what is put out about the dates and— and when the Yale was founded, is not true. It is

I hope this doesn’t sound racist, but I think all senators kind of look alike. It might not have been an intentional lie.

That’s your perspective, but a lot of people — a tremendous number of people — are telling me that Yale is a hardcore Mormon teetotaler school. There’s no need to rush to judgment.

What about when his yearbook came out with him bragging about the chicks he banged?

I think part of his problem is that he has to oversell his defense. He can’t just say, “I didn’t do these crimes”, he has to say, “I am perfect in every possible way”. It’s very, VERY unlikey that any prep school boy from Bethesda can honestly say that they’ve never said anything sexually derogatory or embarrassing in

IIRC like most Republicans Graham voted to convict and remove Bill Clinton from office over his impeachment. Indeed, Susan Collins is the only Republican still on the Senate who voted against removing Clinton from office. So when Republicans grandstand about how it’s unfair or unheard of to investigate allegations on

Based on Bob Woodward’s book, it seems that Graham thinks that it is much easier to buddy up to Trump so that he can feed him his globalist/neocon world views. It’s not about blackmail, it’s about influence — Trump critics have none at the administration, while Trump sycophants have a lot. Per Woodward, it started

I think part of his problem is that, before he became a judge, he spent a lot of time working in highly partisan GOP outfits. That’s not disqualifying, but it does make it harder for him to maintain the equanimity that most justices aspire to. Someone like Gorsuch, by contrast, spent almost entire career either as a

Yale is a Mormon college IIRC so it’s unlikely that alcohol would be served there. Probably.

Pattinson left the House, but he did mention to The Hill that he might run for Senate instead in 2020.

Isn’t one of those Pattinson-obsessed people the current President of the United States? He had a thing a few years ago when he was all about how Stewart wasn’t good enough for him and that he should find someone better (hint hint).

I guess that makes sense, under the logic that it could cause problems with military discipline.

Isn’t she pretty famous for having really stupid opinions and being unwilling to stifle them under any circumstances? She’s basically the reality TV version of Donald Trump... er... the other reality TV version as the case may be.

Roy Moore supporters tried to plant a fake story about him raping a teenage girl and getting her an abortion during the campaign. Luckily, the woman they sent to plant the story wasn’t very bright and the journalist who met with her was able to pick the story apart before it was ever published as factual.

Taylor Swift is not appearing in “Cats”. She’s *becoming* a cat, as in through extensive plastic surgery and gene manipulation. Because why not?

Honestly it was a typo. I was only talking about the next two years — depending on what happens with the world in 2020 we might be talking about something completely different regardless of who the president is. The US invasion of Canada, the conquest of Seoul by Kim, etc.

Honestly, Trump isn’t driving any more. He isn’t up for re-election. I legitimately think that if there were no election this year Kavanaugh would be out. The only reason they are even trying with him instead of just grabbing the next one off the list is because they think they need a SCOTUS win going into November.

I agree. I think there’s a huge chasm between marital infidelity and sexual assault and I don’t think we are at the point in society where the two will — or should — be punished in a similar way by society.
