To the “blah” part: Do we in general, as a car-buying public, see Cadillac as a company that’s doing big things? Interesting things? Are we following it avidly, waiting to see what comes next? Are people flocking to its lots, because it’s got the right strategy to do well in this market? Not really.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. “Decent” encompasses so much: I’m not a fan of the low-powered CT4-V and CT5-V. At all. I’m not a fan of Cadillac not committing to where it wants to go with its cars. I’m a huge fan of the outgoing V-Series cars. At the same time, one of the major (and warranted) complaints with those

I’ve never looked at the base models - I’m always aiming for loaded out when I’m shopping, so I’ll admit to not knowing how the base 3-series is there (I was looking at M340i xdrive and the like, as well as the S4/C43). C43 had the best interior, the audi had the best materials, and the similarly priced (at the time)

The answer would be an Escalade Sport based on a unibody RWD platform to compete with the likes of the Lincoln Aviator and the Range Rover Sport.

They need to build cars the way the built cars in the ‘50s. Big, bold, technologically advanced, bold styling... Everything Cadillac was once good at but is now to chicken to put in anything other than a concept car.

“This looks like it’s from 2013.”

No, it doesn’t.

The vertical headlights look badass as hell at night.

As a new Cadillac owner (2017 CTS V-Sport, which I highly recommend), I will also note one other thing that gets missed in articles, but it really matters.

Perception is reality, my friend.

School lunches have been going wrong (wronger?) since the “central kitchen model” was introduced in the 80's. At our elementary school in the 70's the lunch ladies - always ladies - actually cooked. Some of it was amazing, some of it was good, some of it was okay, and some of it was pretty bad. But it was always hot

Does it actually look dated or are you saying that just because it has a Cadillac badge? It looks as contemporary as anything else on the road. I also think this looks decent although I agree that there are a lot of better looking cars on the market.

I currently drive a 2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0T with manual transmission. It drives and handles beautifully. My two biggest gripes are the touch-only user interface and the LTG’s tendency to blow pistons when you add power, things that shouldn’t be a problem with this new rehash.

I always figured the pods looked like Brussels sprouts and we had already succumbed....

Super, man!

I’ll drink to that.

You cannot judge a burger fully by feel alone. You can judge doneness, you can judge consistency, but not flavor and that’s everything.

You should get greyed for trying to make “Musk-holes” happen.
