It’s what I call “use bungee cords to secure a mattress to your car and then drive on the tollway” stupid.

This is in my neighbourhood. Developers tore it down. :(

Tom, now I’m taking personal offense to your posts. I hereby challenge you to a dual! Step outside, mister!

I guess it’d be a good trick to watch for Halloween.

I didn’t watch it either. Was not impressed by the preview and

There’s a lot of flawed logic on this site, but this is finally something I can get behind 100%.

I would put it on par with cars in the $50k range.

Well written.

NO the 2016 ghost busters ruined it for everyone

No love for the Ghostbuster in all of us?

This is exactly what I thought of reading this article too! Bravo sir!

Cool. Thanks for sharing.

This is freaking brilliant! I’ll admit I’ve been an EV movement hater due to the impracticality of it all, but if swaps can be made in the equivalent time it takes to fill a tank of Gas...game changing

This is the exact model as to why this simply will not work. The companies that run exchange a bottle kiosks typically operate at a surprisingly low margin. Their costs are much higher than you expect. Here are example numbers:

I get the point you’re trying to make, but keep in mind there ARE actual propane refuelling stations for commercial vehicles out there.

Exactly what I was thinking.

My biggest issue with the battery swap idea is that I’d be giving up a fresh, low cycle battery (in the case of a new car) for a well used, much higher cycle battery. Unless the cost of the battery is removed from the cost of the car, there’s no way in hell I’m doing that.

only lets hope they fill the batteries all the way instead of the model these use of charging you for half full tanks.

Yup. Beat me to it. We can totally do this.

I was sitting in a mall parking lot with my son waiting for my wife (story of our lives ammmirite?). At the time I had a blue Prius C2 with tinted windows. We had been there maybe 5 minutes and an identical C2, blue, tinted windows, parked caddy-corner of us one row over, I pointed it out to my son as a coincidence.
