What a great article. I totally love this game. It’s incredibly optimistic...

The main issue is that Rowling will profit off of this. She posted on Twitter awhile back that her wealth comforts her, and makes her assume most people support her.

I don’t really like demonizing people - I’m sure that deep down, she’s a good woman - but something inside of her is making her push anti-trans rhetoric.

Dude he looks fine.  He’s handsome, in fact.  Be kind!

Actually, Kinect has only been retired as a game peripheral. Kinect Azure is very much alive...but it’s absurdly expensive. Fun fact...Kinect V2 is one of the nicest consumer depth cameras you can buy. It is much more accurate and reliable than more modern depth cameras like the Intel Realsense and the Orbecc Astra.

I really hate how Nintendo speaks as if they are on the same footing as Bowser.  “We’ve had to spend significant resources...”  It’s like, you’re a HUGE, multinational corporation.  Whatever effort you’ve had to expend is a minor inconvenience.  There really should be some law where your crimes against a corporation

Can we just talk about the fact that his last name is Bowser?  I’m guessing he had it legally changed at some point but...I just...I can’t anymore...

It is wild to me that people use this kind of language so haphazardly, nowadays.  I know it’s satisfying to say that he’s, essentially, a monster...but that doesn’t necessarily make it true, or mean you should say it.  There is such a fine line between someone actually deserving the bad press they get (i.e. Harvey

What’s weird to me about these games is that they are the only “hard” game that many people are willing to play. Like, you can make nearly any game a difficult and trying experience by just playing it on hard or very hard difficulty. The Evil Within 2 was absurd on hard mode, as was RE: Village. I tried to get one of

Here is an interesting thought experiment: if Microsoft had to kill one random person to continue existing, do you think it would do it?

I mean, beyond it being inappropriate, I don’t understand how more people aren’t talking about the hilarity of this. This reads like an Onion article haha.

God this is so funny

If someone has a thousand memes bouncing around in their head, they can’t control what they say. Going on Twitter and seeing that you’re either supposed to love someone or hate someone puts most human beings in a stressful predicament - so they pick a side to stay “safe”. Thus, you have a million extremists with wack

See, this is what bothers me. Journalists who are not actually trans get to comment on these issues...without studying the source material...while the actual opinions of trans-women go unnoticed.

No, not offended at all.  You should be honest constantly.  And if you can’t be totally honest, get as close as possible.

Yeah I feel the same way.  The story didn’t grip me at all.  Could have just been my mindset at the time.  I also felt this way about Titanfall 2...

Great work, Patricia!  I’m excited to see what you bring to the table.  You’ve been at Kotaku for so long now, I’ve been on here since college.  It is always refreshing to see familiar names continuing to post content, and clearly skillfully wrestling with all of the zeitgeists of these crazy times.

Yeah man, it’s the sense of aggression that’s problematic.  The “us-vs-them”, or “sniffing you out” approach.  It really sucks...most people are decent, and kind at root.  One of the most tragic consequences of these discussions is that...you wind up othering the left, as well.  Try to remember that they, too, were

Yeah, I’m always watching out for articles by the old writers too. I don’t mind liberal topics, it is just the sense of aggression that comes with a lot of the posting. For example, I’m transgender and I really appreciate it when people show open-mindedness about gender identity. However, I don’t appreciate it (at

I don’t think she was strictly implying that Kotaku is going to become a hyper-liberal hub. I do agree with you that it’s a problem. I dislike villifying half of the population - constantly claiming someone is a nazi, or a white supremecist, etc. All based on someone’s online behavior, instead of facing them in real
