I am dating someone of native Canadian descent, Pontiac actually. She said she does not care.

I see. So it was OK for Pontiac but not OK for Jeep to use native nation’s names? Why was there no outrage from the Pontiac nation since day one? How much representation did they get from GM.

I see why people do not care about handling, but why do they need a gigantic truck for the commute to work? To tow the boat once a year? I would not mind at all if trucks were not so damn huge and tall and cumbersome. They do not even fit into any underground garages, in some drive throughs, and in no standard parking

Mustang is offensive to horses and appropriates their identity...Lamborghini models are offensive to fighting bulls, and don’t get me started with Jaguar. Pontiac was offensive too to Native Peoples, why was its name never changed?

I do not want to get used to driving a large, ponderous vehicle. Ever. I am a driving enthusiast first. If I want to drive a tall ponderous vehicle, I will hitch a ride in my friend’s big rig.

I hear what you are saying, but I do care about handling. Many a roundabout shows the difference between a truck and a car. Yes they can do...fine, but I hate driving high up and feeling cumbersome. Trucks never have been, nor ever will be, on my radar as a family vehicle. If I need to move something big or tow, I

Exactly. Why have a vehicle that you use once or three times a year for its actual purpose when you can rent one, treat it like crap while it hauls or tows, and then give it back. Drive a better driving, more economical, smaller, lower maintenance vehicle the rest of the time.

My entire neighbourhood might disagree with you. An urban cowboy every 3rd or 4th house, where the truck sees a random orbital more often than it sees any dirt.

Yes, I used to sell GM trucks. My ‘15 XJR with 650hp smokes just about any truck in a drag other than tuned diesels, and can actually take a corner. Also, it is leagues better to drive, more comfortable by miles, and I am not sitting half a storey off the ground.

Unless it is a TRX or Raptor, the truck will not be faster than my XJR nor even come close to match it in handling. Nor do I blame the truck, as that is not its mission at all. Trucks are for towing and hauling. End.

Yep, I can see if someone needs a truck for truck stuff (hauling, loading the bed with dirty stuff, etc) then all the power to you. They have never been better.

As a Canadian, this is utter rubbish. Put your wipers up, I never have had any adverse problems from doing so. Old cars and new.

Jaguar XJR-L (have)

Uhhhh no. Try Opel Vectra VXR if you want to compare it to a platform mate. The Saabaru was the 9-2x.

Blackwing is a great name, but ruined by naming an engine the same thing and then cancelling it after 5 mins.

Well, that is the end of Dodge. Nice dumb dinosaur fun cars while they lasted.

Driving enjoyment. If it is not fun to drive, I will not drive it.

Beyond stupid. I love Italian cars, but the FCA management consistently make one mistake after another. Just sad.

because sub supercar nobody makes special cars anymore. And of the regular cars, it is mostly garbage chasing after ever shrinking market segments.

Came here to say this. Many people just lump all touring cars into “Group B” and say they went rallying, when many stayed on tarmac in Group A such as the BMW and Merc. Lazy writing IMO, do your homework.
