CP all day every day. The engine is weak, the styling anonymous and bland, and the suspension nothing to brag about.

Considering their current course? No.
Looks tidy, but even as a rabid Saab fan I would not pull the trigger. They are rare and kinda quirky, but the 9-2x exemplifies everything that was wrong with GM Saab in the 2000s. Get a 9-3 XWD which is more of a Saab and a better car.
It is a crossover or SUV.
because automakers cannot do both. The more tech and big screens go into the car, the less dev is focused on the handling and engine note etc. Cars are getting fat and bland to drive, but “damn is that screen nice, I can see the song I am playing” and “did you see that digital speedo!?”
I am 34. I say that is at the same time barely into my 30s, and also mid 30s. In the grand scheme of life, not much of a difference.
That is stupid. Progression in engine technology is not bad. That is not the point of my post.
Oh that is true. I do not buy new cars, because 2 reasons: the ones I want were made 15-25 years ago...and I cannot even remotely afford the stupid prices people ask for new cars. So yeah, I am not helping the situation.
You can keep your F1 and drifiting etc. THIS is proper motorsport. Loved watching the entire 12 hours.
No, but my whole point is nobody is concentrating on what makes a car actually a car anymore, just what tech it has on its damn screen. Look at the downfall of Subaru as a driver’s vehicle...now it is an AWD Corolla. Journalists tout a car has “Apple Carplay; side lane assist” before any mention whatsoever of handling…
I don’t want a giant Ipad in my car. I do not care about any connectivity. Like geez my Alfa doesn’t even have cup holders. I want a manual transmission, nice engine note and strong power to enjoy driving the car, occasionally on some twisties. Not much else.
I hear what you are saying, but I am not even all that old, barely into my 30s. I am just not excited at all about cars that are all about the infotainment and connectivity and technology...what about the engine, its powertain, how it handles corners, how it sounds? Nobody seems to care about those things anymore it…
No thanks.
The Pantera is the only good suggestion.
Lots of Ontario, Canada uses salt to melt ice and snow on the roads. That is why our cars rust stupid fast, modules and electronics constantly fail, and your windshield and car are constantly coated in a white sheen. It is disgusting.
Driving a Hyundai.
and people wonder why the 401 is one of the busiest and most congested highways, and also can be extremely dangerous and deadly
Unfortunately, as a Canadian I am ashamed to say I see this more often these days. Not all of us up here know how to drive in winter, some make downright idiotic and dangerous decisions because they are stupid and in a rush. Had this happen to me the other day, but with salt. Ran out of washer fluid in the company car…
All the discussion of rally, but not one single mention of how much of a legend the RS500 Sierra Cosworth was in touring car racing. In the late 80s it was basically unbeatable.
It is cute everyone throwing in their favourite cars to try and counter the Carlton. I personally am partial to Alfa Romeos of the 90s, the 155 2.5 V6 being my personal favourite. But lets all be real here, none of them really hold a candle to the badass nature of the Carlton. Cool, power, speed...it trumps all.
