agreed, the Maserati is the correct choice

LS in an Alfa is blasphemy. No. If you want an engine swap, a Busso V6 from the GTA or a 4.2 V8 from the Maserati Coupe.

I love your suggestion personally, and those are stupid fast with a tune, but it is no exotic to drive or sit in.

No, in this case Miata is not the answer.

I like this Lotus, the exotic choice vs the tiny track toy Elise.

I like this.

how is that ever in any way an exotic driving experience? Cheap car with a turbo.

agreed, they are a hidden gem on the used market these days. Cheap and reliable (yes, reliable) with true exotic feeling and sound. 2006 Coupe 4200 with manual and Gransport body kit and exhaust for me thanks.

not exotic

they went too cheap, beyond common sense cheap. They bought parts cars on purpose for a gag.

not exotic at all. Never.

Maserati with the 4.2-4.7 is reliable as long as it is not the F1 gearbox.

A Maserati Coupe 4200 is perfect. Gransport if you want too. Super cheap, supercar sound and feel, and fairly quick. GranTurismo if you want to spend a little more and for an even prettier car.

ST version? Stupid.

No, they are not. Also, who cares. They will be reliable enough, especially at the price points you can buy them at. But if you really, really want reliable, go drive a Corolla. And also hand in your Man Card.

and the cars suggested above are reliable? I mean there is a Mercedes and MG in there...

OK so including a god awful (just sit in one) HHR and a unicorn Solstice GXP (just try and find one) but not the Mini Cooper S I mentioned? It can out-handle both of those cars and for way less money. I dunno about not including it, but hey not my blog.

No thanks.

Modern cars are gigantic. I don’t care if they are the same weight as a 10 year old model of themselves. They can barely fit into a parking spot, and parallel parking is a nightmare. There is a reason I drive an R53 Mini and an early 90s Alfa Romeo. Perfect sized.

Good. Now they should eliminate the turbo 4 altogether except perhaps on the very base model Boxter and we can forget they made this huge mistake in the first place.
