Saab did what they could when starved for funds from GM. GM bought Saab, stripped them of all their expertise in turbo technology and ECU tuning, and then gave them pennies to make new cars with. Considering their circumstances, they did well with what they were given.

it was...and it was not a proper Saab at all

Agreed. Restrained Nordic elegance. Damn I miss Saab.

Saab has always had handsome cars that stand the test of time, the 03 9-3 Aero still looks good today I think, in a reserved Bauhaus sort of way.

I love TVR, crazy and focused on raw driving, to a fault. The UK Alfa Romeo after drinking plenty of whiskey, if you will.

Some cars you do not buy used no matter what they are, because breaking down and expensive repairs are a certainty. This is one of them.

I would say that styling isnt all BMW though...limit the discussion to road cars?

I am a fan of Pontiac, used to have a Grand Prix and used to sell them, but no I really cannot agree. It is a slightly edgier take on a boring as snot small SUV, just like all the rest out there. Nothing exciting or handsome about it at all.

nailed it

OK, so to remedy that we should all drive 3/4 tons lifted and with 600hp? That must be the only solution because anything else is too small or too underpowered. /s

Drove one in Australia. It was a blast.

Ontario, Canada next to the Gatineau Hills

yessir. Tuned 9-3 2.0T with 250,000kms and still going strong on original turbo

OK...so you made an even stronger case not to get an MS6. Almost Audi-level of required maintenance to keep it on the road.

either I have not been on the right trails, or you have not been on the right roads - I have torn up abandoned mountain passes in my Alfa, and screamed from delight stringing together a bunch of corners as my engine bounces off the rev limiter...I dunno how a big boxy SUV on a trail could match that....

2 big dogs would hate you if you stuck them in a MS6.

It is. I have driven a Tesla S, had an order for a Model3 but cancelled it, and my family has owned 2 Volts (still has one). I know all about EV driving and its pleasures.

He drives a MS3. Reliability is not on his list of priorities. Also, being concerned about reliability above all other things is a sign you are old and boring. Corolla boring.

why the hell would he want one of those?

34 here. Still drive a stick sport sedan with a loud engine, and it does everything I ask of it. Just because you age a little doesn’t mean your balls have fallen off. Drive interesting cars that make you smile, settling because you are old will only make you older faster.
