Already live here, and I love my country. You should visit sometime.
Why the hell is there a relentless war on grey market cars. They make up like 1% of the car market, and people buy them specifically because they want that car...NOT anything you have in your stupid dealership.
well just about anyone can do long distance pogo stick jumping...don’t even need a car for that! Doesn’t make it good.
cars are getting more and more expensive, with more and more garbage built into them that really nobody asked for
why is drifting everywhere on this blog? Rarely are motorsports other than F1 or drifting mentioned.
I am glad you also hate the CUVpocalypse, but I for one will be NOT buying any of them, even used...because the resistance must stand tall against the tidal wave of mediocrity.
No amount of imagination will make this Edge RS handle or feel like a Focus RS. Basic physics cannot be circumvented - it is still a heavy bloated jacked up brick that will have rock hard suspension, poor fuel economy, and expensive tires and wheels - all things that make it a bad family vehicle. So it is compromised…
a family hauler is not fun, no matter how much you delude yourself that a turbo and some fake aero bits try and convince you otherwise...and yes, because I would constantly feel “oh think how much better this would be to drive if it was a proper sports car”
Nostalgia fever is very high right now. I can see a super clean Supra commanding some decent coin.
because soon family haulers in a variety of guises are all we are going to be able to buy unless we want to pony up for a dedicated supercar...I KNOW the manufacturers are thinking “who cares if we cancel the Focus RS, the Edge RS will be good enough”
I am just not going to even...whatever fine.
...but it looks better with the badges. De-badged it just looks like a 18 year old is driving it and has modified it on a budget. That is always the case.
it is ugly, but it is a softroad SUV...albeit one of the best handling and fastest on the market. First SUV to ever be in MTs Best Driver competition - it is that good.
the engine bay is limited due to packaging, it can make more power...but the aftermarket needs to get involved
Yep - the aftermarket is flush for these little things. Get the version with the good engine and LSD and proper transmission....and go crazy at MINI Madness or somewhere else.
but the original R8 with the gated manual was a dream, and everyone said it was the transmission to have. Are you saying people actively went and bought the inferior transmission for their sports car because they were too lazy to shift gears? I think that is possible.
But I see it in Canada...hardly South Africa up here.
Why not get a performance oriented wagon? It does everything better. Or, if you have many kids, get a used Odyssey because this Edge RS new will be a heap of money, and get a Miata or other used fun car on the side. Trying to do it all in anything other than a sports wagon is just fooling yourself.
And therein is the problem.
