@Whitson Gordon: !$ is another handy one - it's the last argument of the previous command.

@octasquid wants ripfire4s 2bstar'd: Nobody employs high paid grad students. Such a mythical creature does not exist.
Woah...woaaaaaaaaaaah...There's some sort of disconnect here. When we (as passengers) complain, we're frequently told "there are other means of travel. use them."
@You should be honored that I: They're also making good use of his buddy, Captain Hyperbole.
I just had a discussion with some folks this morning about these bad boys. They came across as STRONGLY favoring the 'added security' the scanners bring. It amazes me that *anyone* can still think "If this is what we must do to be secure, then so be it! If you don't have anything to hide, why do you object?"
@wjp4bs: Woah, sorry about that guys. Apparently the address got clipped off.
@sifornari: "Buying" a star is actually a myth. If whomever you're buying for likes the idea, by all means go for it, but note that any official organization will never recognize the name you give it. Same idea as if I "sold" you a number...
68% is a little hard for me to swallow after watching this video.
Avoid the use of being verbs. Writing becomes significantly more clear without the use of the passive voice.
@Hasteur: I suggest a planet for the physics geeks, as we typically enjoy celebrating Grav-Mass at the same time of year. ;)
@k122n: "Supposed to" yes. We were always silently encouraged (through the use of "possible thesis idea" lists or other such devices) to formulate a thesis about what conclusion we wanted to draw, then find supporting facts later.
"Words belong to the person who wrote them. There are few simpler ethical notions than this one, particularly as society directs more and more energy and resources toward the creation of intellectual property."
@Standish: Who needs fiber when you can have Dr. Bronner's?
@Devonna: You forgot to add "mom's love" as an ingredient ;)
@NotEnglishSpeaker: You could probably check a local pharmacy for extra 'script tubes.
@isights: Oh certainly. I was merely trying to demonstrate the complex nature of intellectual property protection. Just saying "Adobe lost $999 because you pirated CS5 instead of buying it" is rather absurd.
@ImperfectLink: I'm kind of disappointed I haven't seen the really funny (and appropriate) graph of how DRM affects consumers. Basically, any DRM that takes longer than 2-3 minutes (TOPS) for the legit consumer to deactivate only hurts those exact consumers. The pirates will still crack it regardless.
@aegelman: I don't pirate things for many of the ethical reasons you listed above, but I think there's a significant amount of grey area than you realize. XKCD does a good job of demonstrating the technical reasons one might choose to pirate music, to say nothing of the added exposure artists (may) get from pirates.…
@McMike: FOOOOOOOOOOOSH!
