You could have your “final” destination be in Zurich and then take the train down to Como. There’s a train that runs between Milan and Zurich on a reasonably regular basis and Como’s along the way. (Or at least there used to be... haven’t lived over there in a few years.) Milan to Florence will be a bit longer but…
