special attack is 2 sawed off shotguns
not that i dont appreciate the analogy but, I have to disagree with coding being analogous. sure some of its mundane and systematic but, when you get down to what you’re creating with lines of code there is so much creativity, problem solving, unique expression and hard work it’d be a shame to not think of it that…
are people today so stupid today they can’t tell if you consent to sex? i mean, rapers gonna rape, how could you possibly question whether something is fucking rape?
its gotta be a a lot of work keeping up with it, and if they arent making money theyve gotta wonder why are we doing this
sure but selling isnt the point, even free art like anything on deviantart deserves to be the intellectual property and be recognized by the one who drew it. same with coding. if he was really inspired, and had the knowledge to do it, he couldve easily wrote it all himself and not ended up with the nonsensical…
you said no one owns the code. the literal lines of numbers and letters that make up the actions, and someone created the program to recognize those (java, c+) the same as someone owning the tools you use to draw with (papermate, crayola) ergo you dont own the lines of code you wrote cause you werent the one to create…
this is like art. you cant take someone else’s painting, throw a border around it and sell it like it was yours. and saying they dont own any of it is like saying you cant draw because Papermate made the pencil.
I cant agree cause I loved It, but, never finished it. although thats not saying much for me, easily distracted. people dont realize even though they adored it, it still sold very horribly. like you said, the game studio had to close because of it. But, i think it was a mistake of PR and branding, not showing off…
the reasons i play with myself. you can take that however you want.
thats what they get for trying to get a scientific victory over you.
i could never have thought of a better metaphor that suits that. it is....perfect
yuuup like parents yelling at mcdonalds for not letting kids eat healthy or their mature rated games are teaching them to shoot classmates.
Valve’s reason for getting rid of their games, “their games suck, dude”
actually this happens all the time. In the case of restaurants, some of them have sued Yelp. i dont beleive those cases are ever won against reviewers, freedom of speech.
because some people dont have a pc?
no but they sure as hell did a better job of finding and fixing them in the days of cartridges(which apparently is also today) now they take advantage of over the air updates.
they didn’t change animation studios, they’re just letting their kids draw now.
I also wanted to point out, Polygon has a different take on this article’s tone... “Sony exec SLAMS Hello Games’ marketing.” Lol.
