I think we need to be a bit careful here. I’m not exactly sure what Columbia’s judicial review looks like, but some university judicial systems don’t go out and investigate/question students on their own. Often they’ll talk to witnesses the accused rapist and alleged victim identify and bring with them to the hearing.

The problem is in your proposed solution: improving the legal system takes a lot of time and without consistent supervision, it’s a crapshoot as to whether any of the improvements that get made will stick over time. Because of how slowly the legal system moves, it wouldn’t be uncommon for an accused rapist to graduate

I’d recommend checking out X Art. It’s one of the few studios I’ve found that consistently produce films without the joking/gagging/jackhammering that seems standard in most other films. Plus, all parties involved are generally attractive rather than featuring only attractive female performers.

Agreed. Who send their one effing doctor out on a run? Idiots who deserve to die from an infected, gangrenous hangnail, that's who.

Bumble seems like a great idea, but I wish there were ways other than linking Facebook to set up an account. C’mon, Bumble!

Two quick things. First, that picture, goddamn. It’s one thing to know Syed has spent his entire adult life in prison and another thing entirely to see those pictures.

That reminds me of a passage from Shawshank Redemption:

There’s something in the Satanic creed about highly valuing science, so I’m pretty sure the atheists are welcome!

Wow. That post was really uncalled for. That’s not the kind of content (or professional behavior) I want to see on Jez.

Agreed. I was glad to see Weinstein’s response, and I was hoping more staff writers would step up like that. He’s definitely one of their top tier writers in terms of consistent quality.

The more I read from/about Vargas-Cooper, the less I like her philosphies about writing/reporting. There were some significant issues with her reporting on Serial-related articles, and afteward she left The Intercept for Jez. I

Perhaps the Satanic Temple will use this as an opportunity for some more wonderful trolling. The more the Republicans double down on ridiculous things like this, the more inclined I am to become a card-carrying Satanist.

It looks like I’d have to jump through some hoops with my DRMed files and getting some things out of the cloud. Not as easy as I’d like, but might be worth a second look when I upgrade next. Thanks!

Agreed. If it seemed easy to port an iTunes library to Android, I’d consider switching much more seriously.

That’s my guess as well. They look structurally different from ballet heels, which are most often seen in fetish wear and often require specific training if you’re going to wear them for any length of time and/or walk in them.

That one bothers me. I work with a fair amount of well-to-do, travelling types and they’re just aghast at the fact that I don’t like to travel. I’ve done a fair amount of it, I don’t enjoy it, and I’d rather stay home. That doesn’t make me uncultured or ignorant; it makes me an introvert who loves predictability. Viva

I can definitely vouch for the landlord piece. A while back I lived in a duplex and my landlord owned and was selling both units. The person who bought the house had me as a tenant for the duration of my lease, and prospective homebuyers who read me as ethnically ambiguous tried all kinds of verbal acrobatics to

I have thought about apocalypse survival a lot, but I’ve never considered this! I’ll definitely add raiding pharmacies for condoms/cranberry pills/yeast infection meds/etc. to my list of priorities.

Great point. It’s also helpful to consider what you might need if you’re traveling and taking medication with you. Different countries have different laws, and this is something some travelers don’t anticipate.

I’m guessing that bears too much resemblance to something like sex ed, even if it’s the victim blaming, slut shaming variety.
