I love arguing about Star Wars, but I have no energy for this anymore.

I mean it’s not as straight and clear as all that. Some of the fundamental concepts came from Lucas, and Lucas has long touted a final arc to the story, even if they diverted from those treatments after the initial concepts. 7 and 8 had flaws, but they at least set the table for...something. Unfortunately 9 makes 7

Yeah, that’s why I think I’ve been pretty happy with Rebels and The Mandalorian - relatively low stakes (or at least lower than the movies) with relative nobodies (even though Rebels had two Jedi). If nothing else, that gives me hope for the Kenobi series, though you’re right that Disney might try and make it bigger

Sorry... it would have been a great thing that the series could have picked up on and explored.

Jenny Nicholson quote: “I think the worst thing a franchise ending can do is make you feel kind of stupid and embarrassed for being so excited for it in the first place.”

I really can’t think of one good thing to say about Skywalker.

It actually would have been a great setup for his solo series.

I don’t disagree, really, I just think that working such a thing in with the setting, time period, and existing character wouldn’t work well. On one hand, he fully recognizes that a lot of what he believed in from the Jedi Order actively led to its downfall, but he also understands how much of it was correct (did

Eh. They told Obi-Wan’s love story with Satine. Shoehorning someone else into his tale and somehow not making him a deadbeat dad as a result would be weird.

I have a lot of anxiety about his solo series since it has to fit into his exile watching over Luke. That’s a tough needle to thread. (This is despite loving Ewan

I really can’t think of one good thing to say about Skywalker.

I liked Keri Russell. I think that’s it as far good things to say about TRoS.

1) The Rise of Skywalker sucks (Babu Frik excluded, of course)

Trs was just sound and fury signifying nothing, there is really nothing else to say about it.

And the fact the DeForest Kelley seems to believe that the main effect age has on the body is thickening of accent.

I pictured Q appearing ridiculously older, acting like a frail old man to mock Picard, and then zapping into his current (still old) age and being like “Is this better?”

I felt it they brought Q into say, ST:Picard, having Q look 20 years older would be something he would totally do appearing before Picard, as deep down, he has a ton a respect for him.

I don’t know that the traditional syndication play is still a thing anymore. It seems that the bar was lowered to 80, but mostly I think these shows are going to accumulate in the annals of streaming services coming out.

Thank you! I do think a lot of people are not only focusing on worst-case scenarios but also judging and criticizing people for even trying any non-essential activities with safety precautions. While some behavior we’ve seen in the pandemic has been unquestionably despicable (e.g., coughing on grocery store workers

I’m not setting foot in a theater until there’s a safe, effective vaccine. Period.
