I’m starting to feel like Logan Square is a bit more functional than other parts of the city in regards to this. Everyone seems to follow dibs and there’s been no REAL retaliation when someone doesn’t.

But in Rogers Park... just taking snow out of the equation, how often did you find a space by your house on any given night? It seems to me that what favors 9-5ers is just the fact that there are always spaces available during the day, and you’re always parking 5 blocks away at night.

The only thing I would disagree with is that sadly I don’t think the majority of people know who they’re going to vote for. Most people can’t pull themselves away from binge watching “My Littlest 600lb Fiance” long enough to even pay attention to what’s going on in the world.

Except that the hypothetical second spot is usually in a plowed parking lot at work or a store.

Now imagine your neighbors all park in your driveway after you clear it and you can only park if you go shovel theirs.

Honestly, the dibs system is one of the only things that still allows me to have faith in humanity. Somehow we all follow the social contract, and frankly, I feel like I’ve only ever once had someone steal my space.
