If you’re cooking bacon in the oven, you get better results if you don’t preheat your oven.  Like the cold pan method, the fat renders out slowly in an oven that hasn’t preheated.

I worked at 7-11 a long time ago and I HATED working on 7/11.  The store I worked at used to have all kinds of freebies that day.  I think one year, there was even a full sheet cake that we were serving for free.  

It was a group dinner after an event we were both attending. He was a friend of a friend of a friend.

Anecdotally, I had dinner with Doug one time. I didn’t know who he was at the time and didn’t really care. But he was an ass to me unprompted and frankly seemed new to the world.

It may be that you’re missing the savoriness that meat provides to food. But that same flavor can be had without meat. I’ve been to restaurants where a good 90% of the dishes we ordered were some preparation of vegetables and we were completely satisfied.

It looks like the patty is seared after you sous vide. And medium rare would be about 130 F, right? Wouldn't be a high enough temp to melt cheese?
