Yeah same. If the women in my office took the day off we’d only have 10% of staff show up and there’d be no management. I work for a family/community services non profit that provides a lot of very important service/programming so not showing up just puts our clients in a lurch.

I have a bit of ambivalence myself. Outside of not showing up to work the other gestures are pretty symbolic and don’t amount to much. And I think people that try to make women who feel like they need to skip out on work are being a little classist and privileged (haven’t seen it on this thread but I had someone hurl…
