I sort of feel like they’re edging her in that direction already - even if she isn’t becoming the Mad Queen, she’s starting to look that way to everyone around her, and she most certainly is intoxicated by her own (dragon) power.

I think this conflict is supposed to be a central tension going forward? Basically, she wants to be the queen and be recognized for it without having to actually do much of anything - but that’s not working, so instead it’s fire and blood and guts, and she’s starting to edge ever closer to something like her father.…
I interpreted Sansa’s reaction as: “Hmmm, she’s really deadly. Maybe she actually does have a list of people she’s going to kill. Hmmm....she also said most of the people on the list are already dead... hmmmm... I wonder if she’s a psychopath these days.”
I think Sansa and Jon’s reunion had the most impact because it was the first one we got. After like 5 seasons, we FINALLY got to see some Starks together. And it was precious.
It hasn’t even happened yet and I am so over the Jon/Daenerys shit. I’m just sick of hearing how excited everyone is about the possibility of them boning, even though we’ve all known this was coming for years. Zzzzzz.
I think she’s upset, but not necessarily pissed. I think there were a couple of different/interacting things happening there.
She is so incredibly entitled and is on a total power trip. I doubt they will do it, but I would love for them to go in a “Mad Queen” direction with her. The Targaryens ruled Westeros for ages and did a generally pretty shitty job of it, it would be such a disappointment to see them back on the Iron Throne again in…
I heartily agree that Dany and Jon have ZERO chemistry, even if you completely disregard the cousins thing. I thought the writers were purposefully trying not to go that route until Davos specifically commented on Jon supposedly checking her out. Jon was great with Ygritte. I loved Dany with Drogo and - while she…
Randyll Tarly said the gold made it back to King’s Landing but I think Cersei is going to use it for something else. She mentioned contacting the fighters from Essos so maybe she uses the gold to pay them instead of repaying the Iron Bank? Also, how much of the Lannister and Tyrell forces were left behind? I wonder…
Arya is absolutely nothing like her father except superficially. She has always been 100% her mother. Stubborn, can hold a grudge more than anyone in the world, focused on the individuals who hurt the family more than the bigger picture, vengeance obsessed.
We’re almost through season 7 and Jon is still acting like a doubty emoey manboy. The showrunners/writers/directors have botched the character. The interaction between Jon and Danerys would be better if they made Jon a more decisive and determined character instead of him being the kid who forgot his homesick.
Yeah, that kills me, especially when Davos pretty succinctly explained that the biggest reason the lords of the north and the freefolk have chosen to follow Jon is because they believe in him and not because they care about any claim he does or doesn’t have to be King in the North.
Yeah, I mentioned it elsewhere, but I still can’t get over THAT reunion:
There’s no way they’ll kill off Jaime yet. Like you said, he has to kill his sister first - plus, they won’t miss the dramatic opportunity to have him deliver Olenna’s message to Cersei.
I left this episode feeling meh (moreso than usual) about the Queen of Dragons. She’ll help defeat the White Walkers when Jon Snow bends the knee? Jesus christ enough already. All the badass dragons in the world can’t save her from being a myopic idiot.
That last battle just turned into fucking We Were Soldiers for several minutes, with it being a lot like the napalm scene from that where people just get cooked inside their BDUs. Shame the desire to show that both Jaime and Bronn are these reformed characters willing to put themselves in danger when they could just…
Please rattle off some of these American mainstream wide or medium release film titles with Asian movie stars. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
This is my wife’s current theory as well. I told her the story and her reaction was “I bet the kid’s black.”
She may not want to hand back the North when Jon comes traipsing back.
Teenagers are so insufferable when they enter their Three-Eyed Raven phase.
