True. Better to live where all the infrastructures already exist than go pollute farther off. One of the main turnoffs I have for these tiny homes is that many cities won’t allow them. You might as well rent or own an existing apartment if this is about the planet.

We downsized from a dumb McMansion to a house about 1/2 the size a couple of years ago. At first it was tough getting rid of so much of our stuff. After a while it got easier and almost fun. Since then I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve “needed” any of the stuff we jettisoned.

That’s what I always think. I would love to buy a small, one bedroom bungalow like my grandmother had, just for myself. But the truth is that where I live its really hard to find places that size. Those old modestly sized bungalows now need a lot of renovation. And everything new is huge!
