I kind of feel the same, although African music tends to be as globally influenced as R&B (Tuareg guitar is more the product of Dire Straits than local traditions because the guitar was traditionally a woman’s instrument, for example).

If the critics review are as positive as the early screening reviews (and I expect there to be a bit of a critical leveling off in the praise for some reason)

Yeah this is my problem with the soundtrack. They’re going through a lot of trouble to get only black artists, but they’re all American. Black Panther is not an African American and this music doesn’t have much to do with him.
Not that I have any problem with Kenrick or know of any beyond Nneka, but shouldn’t he also have looked at some native African popular musicians?
Someone needs to ask them when they plan on putting back the cooperative multiplayer mode ingame, it was already seen to have a ‘wait for day-0 patch’ note in the code, i purchased this game to play it with my wife and we mostly have to rely on reaching alliance at some point in the game, its really not as interesting…
