I agree with you but the problem is, we are the minority. The majority of people that buy games and who these companies make money off of, are the people that buy 2-3 games a year max. The people that will only buy an Assassin’s Creed or Call of Duty but put 500 hours into it and spend more money on microtransactions.

I’ve started playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition and am in the middle of ME2 right now. I played the original versions way back when, so it was nice to revisit the series and remember what made them great.

I’m in the camp that says: let the designers create the game in the image of their choosing. Criticism is fine but I am sooo done with the internet (especially Gamers) demanding how their Art-Entertainment be served to them.

Nobody is forcing randos to do anything. They are choosing Role Queue because they enjoy playing a balanced game more than they dislike the specific group dynamic you’re talking about.

How to tell me you haven’t played Overwatch 2 without actually saying you haven’t played Overwatch 2.

They’ve confirmed that Clive will be the only playable character and that there will be nonplayable party members...but how much of a group they are remains to be seen. And the trailers haven’t really demonstrated one yet.

While I’m intrigued, i agree that nothing about this screams Final Fantasy to me. It feels like it could have worked as a spinoff of the Ivalice saga perhaps. But there isn’t nearly enough color for this to feel like a good final fantasy game.

Still bummed about the lack of party members. Don’t love how relentlessly dark it looks, either. Also that’s a lot of dudes.

The graphics definitely look great, though.

I hope this isn’t a serious comment, cuz if so, then that’s a massive yikes lmfao

Unless I missed something, Overwatch 1 players are only getting the first 3 new heroes for free.  Once they move past Kiriko, Junker Queen, and Sojourn, won’t Overwatch 1 players need to either grind or pay up in order to gain access to new heroes?

My understanding is that with the shift to a one-tank team structure, they’ve also made tanks more of a ‘brawler’ type role, so damage absorption is still important, but there’s more opportunity to throw down a lot of damage.

Now I’m nostalgic for the days I spent standing in arcades, my quarter in line on the edge of the screen, going home and scrolling Tekken Zaibatsu for combos to try.

It’s $50 on the other systems. Also, it’s an almost 11 year old game.

Fuck this shit.

Im gonna just say that comparing Multiversus and Tekken 7 is sort of a ridiculous comparison. One is a F2P team focused platform fighter that came out less than a year ago and the other is a 7 year old fighting hyper technical fighting 3D game.

These 2 games are no where near similar enough to compare user bases.

The FGC has done just fine and fighting games are as healthy now as ever. (Remember the pre-SFIV days?) And that is despite, going through the worst period for the community known as the COVID pandemic, that 100% shut down all in-person events.

Maybe I’m jut incredibly cynical about human nature but... how were people not assuming that cheating was rife on Chess.com or any form of non “over the board” play anyway?

This is Kinja. Nothing works at all

The problem with remaking older games is that you stand to lose what exactly made those games work in the first place. Like the Resident Evil remakes are quite possibly outliers in which the development team were able to find a healthy medium between modernizing the games, and keeping true to the core of those games.
