Look for intolerable British people. Works great online anyway.

Took the words out of my mouth. Yeah, it’s a little offensive to hear that not having had your wiener molested during infancy puts you in a fetish category. And double yeah to dating those raised outside US. Eastern Europe almost in all its entirety would be a safe bet. We were taught proper hygiene so we didn’t have

What options did you not have that you wanted? A lot of plans include low-cost index funds.

My nuanced response is the article I wrote above. I’m a big fan of roths and dividend stocks (hey it’s like I wrote an article recommending them yesterday!) but that doesn’t mean you forego the match

this is a good post. I was dumb and literally didnt have a single dime to my name at age 35. Ive done my best to make up for it in the 11 years since then but, man, if i had maybe done a little less partying and saved even a tiny fraction of the amount of money i spent on booze in my 20s and early 30s my savings would

I will say this: the system may be bullshit, but 401(k)s aren’t.

You do realize that if the gun was harder (emphasis on harder, not impossible) to obtain, the killer would have just used a knife, right?

Explain how the eight year old special needs kid also dies and the 9 year old is critically wounded if he uses a knife to off his estranged wife?

If the guy had stabbed his estranged wife, he would have been far less likely to have accidentally killed one of her students and killed another. The two students he shot were standing behind their teacher, his target. Also, you’re more likely to survive a stabbing than a shooting. Imagine how many more people the

“the killer would have just used a knife, right?”

Certainly, wouldn’t have killed or injured the children in this specific scenario if the gun was a knife or whatever else. Guns make it easy. A knife is hard. If you remove the gun, this sort of crime goes down. Takes a lot to actually stab a person.

It’s up to each person to make their own decisions about how to spend their money and if someone (like younger Americans) decides they’d rather spend their money elsewhere they accept the risk that goes along with that.

We only tank our economy when its this complex mess. Cut programs, raise taxes, and just pay for it all. No hoops. No signing up. No market places.

It’s not the federal government’s job to make sure people have health insurance.

It’s not the federal government’s job to make sure people have health insurance.

Big flaw: if uninsured get sick then their (typically highest possible) cost is a passed on to everyone else. Maybe you are proposing to let the unisured just die on the hospital sidewalk? Life is complicated, think beyond 15 second soundbites.

“Just because ‘other countries’ do this doesn’t mean we should tank our economy the same way they did.”

That’s just rich.

The irony of the people insisting she should have read the job’s requirements before agreeing to the job, not reading the article itself.
