When I think back to Final Fantasy VII, I remember the feelings, impressions, and atmosphere of the game above everything else.

Very unfortunate release window. If this had come out a year or two ago, it could have scratched the animal crossing itch and gotten more people to buy. But in the same year and after animal crossing comes out? I don’t see this doing well.

Don’t discount how difficult doing leg bends for minutes at a time will be. 

Speed runners have played the game hundreds or thousands of times.  They’ve seen everything in the game and know it like that back of their hand.  Most probably did play and explore at a more normal pace at the beginning.  They are well beyond that now.

This is probably a budgetary constraint, as in they don’t have someone to direct the cut scenes, so they are very simple as a result. Plus the cross fades, are probably to hide the lack of animation (which seems a budget issue).
