It absolutely does impact the visuals, there are mods in place to reduce bloom, increase LOD detail etc. At the same time, this is a game that runs natively on its own hardware at under 30fps for the most part. That framerate makes such a huge difference to how the game appears.

Without the mods, just the resolution…

I hate the way Nintendo seem to be above criticism in this regard. Anytime comparisons are made to PC/PS/Xbox by a gaming journalist/media person, 95% of the time it’s quickly followed up by “Nintendo are off doing their own thing and therefore we shouldn’t hold them to the same standards”.

I don’t think you understand how intellectual property rights work.

That is to say, you must actively defend against every case of IP infringement, or else risks entirely losing the ability to defend it in the future.
