Love the response. Say what you want about the “accuracy” of woman in WWII (read: get over it, there WERE women), I find it odd to see so many complaints about the reveal trailer based on the tone, color palette, mixed gender fireteam, etc.

Okay, let’s nitpick further: you and I both know very well that the majority of the anger about the woman in the game is NOT because she’s infantry; it’s that she’s a prominent character in the game in a space where sexists could previously have “legitimate” arguments to not have to see prominent female characters and…
I think it might actually be the letter V (as in V for Victory), which was a really common symbol in WWII.
I saw someone on Twitter suggest that the game is permadeath, one play only and it uninstalls itself on character death for realism, haha.
They’re more upset about the historical authenticity of the portrayal of British women serving as infantry in WWII.
These idiots claim it’s in the name of preserving historical accuracy. A claim that goes out the window when you examine the sorts of additions Battlefield has always allowed for in order to make the game more fun.
If historical accuracy was the aim, Battlefield 1 would have been a ton of sitting in a trench waiting…
You really owe it to yourself to read Walter Isaccson’s biography on Jobs. It is an absolutely incredible read and the closest thing we have which opens the curtain behind an incredible yet extremely flawed individual.
Stay awhile and listen!
Buying games in the US can backfire though: the games aren’t region-locked, but the digital content still looks for the version of the game you’re using the store in. This bit me in the butt when I bought LittleBigPlanet 2 in the US (and Lego Harry Potter with “Sorceror’s Stone”).
I started on Normal, got tired of getting walloped, and backed it down to Easy.
Then I started taking on Valkyries, and found myself thinking, “I’ve finished every Souls game from Demons’ on, and I can’t do this shit on Easy?
I need to git gud.”
I see clueless parents getting played by their little kids every time I go to Gamestop, even after the employee dutifully informs them of what the M rating means. It’s goddamn awkward.
“just can’t do that with modern TVs and monitors” you say?
I walked through some forest on the way to a mission and the way the sun was shining through the trees...damn. Literally stopped and just slow panned around to look at it.
Makes me want to get a 4K console
I do like that vertical rotation, bring all the shumps
There should have been an armed parent watching closely.
No asshole, what we need right now are #thoughtsandprayers
It’s true. Had there only been more guns in the house, this whole horrible tragedy might have been averted.
Obviously we need to start arming the 13-year-old girls.
