As a developer, I’m almost certain this is not an aesthetic decision. They just don’t have proper dpi scaling code for different elements. Normally you should have text and text boxes scaled separately from the in-game elements. I’ve noticed a trend with developers that may only be playtesting the Switch in docked…

Exactly this. As someone who works for a living I get upset seeing so many people complaining about the game being “too easy”.

How sad that the current millennial generation will never be able to appreciate how big a deal this was when it happened. Especially given the HUGE marketing blitz behind FFIX before it released and Babbages heavily pushing the guide discount with the game reservation.
