I appreciate your common sense and cool headedness.
What really killed Broadway Tupac…http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/cH_C6f07Udo…
Honestly, out of respect to Tupac and being a genuine fan (and I only enjoy a minute selection of rap) I cringe at the thought of there being a musical based off his work. Just the idea of it. I would be much more open to an original story of inner city struggle, without piggy backing on the success of Tupac.
From what I understand she was basically homeless at 16 in Miami.
So people didn't like Tupac: The Musical = America supports Nazi Germany
nice.
THHHANK YOU.
My prediction exactly.
I never saw the play, but I can see it coming off as VERY cheese ball without much difficulty. In other words…tupac's classic introspective "thug life" gangsta persona, I can't see translating well to Musical Theater(not in any mainstream sense anyway). My guess is that's more why it failed. I for one, am leery out…
Jethro Tull was classically, more heavy metal than Metallica. Metallica represented the back bone of the new (speed)metal which was emerging. But "Heavy Metal" dates back to the 60's, a sound which Jethro Tull was way more, than metallica. (See Iron Butterfly, Cream, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath).
in the context of the song and how she handles it, it's actually pretty good. She may take some getting used to, but I'm kind of in love with her now.
But more to the point…kiiiind of a stretch blaming the failure of your "thug-life" musical on an australian rapping white girl. leeeeetle bit of a reach, no?
Refusing to honor thy high ranked station by maintaining the same mindset of someone on the ground floor deems one unworthy and inoperable.
with great power comes…
Two words: Sylvester. Stallone.
I think mechagodzilla could be done pretty righteously, especially with the continued popularity of transformer movies. Definitely something I'd like to see done with all the new technology these days.
My biggest complaint about the movie is that there weren't several other new ones for me to marathon watch along with it.
