This may be the best comment and batch of real advice here. Most trucks are status. Ain’t it great that sex is free (for many of us)?

This: “why the fuck did you buy a 2016 F350 to REMOVE SNOW WITH?? Most people do it with old, very used pickups as it is very hard on the truck.”

Riskier than just selling it.

Has anyone said “sell the new truck” yet? He’s likely have to get a personal loan or put the $16K negative equity on credit card, but it will be a whole lot less than $900 per month. Then find a very used Civic for $2,000 and lick his wounds for a while.

My philosophy is: show me your term that gets the lowest rate, and I budget from there....

My credit union, and I expect many others can do a vehicle re-fi. That will at least help with the rate and payment and maybe allow for a shorter term.

How many parking lots did he actually plow with a 2016 truck? Count on one hand? I expect that the plow rig was a big part of the depreciation. Aren’t those practically free on craigslist with a bit of patience?

So he financed, say $40K on the Toyota PLUS $16K of negative equity on the Ford for an amount financed of $46K or so?!?!

Was there literally a gun to his head to agree to a $900 car payment? That’s in HOUSING payment territory! If you have an HHI of $400K+ and you need a new GT-3, I can see that. Otherwise it’s probably insane, even before you get to rate and term...

I just bought a CPO Passat Limited for a daily driver. 12K miles for $17,288. .9% APR for 60 months. Zero down; payment of $327. $25K new. I’d like to think that’s how it’s done.

Wait, has the auto industry officially acknowledged that a “garnish” is an automotive thing now? In my book, it can only be a food thing, ever.

I like how the Hyundai was hiding in the bushes like a Mustang, lying in wait....

Stole my “hold my beer” line. Almost cleared the sumbitch, too!

Damn! Cherokee floated for a lot longer than I expected....

The same can be said for Toyota Mirai, minus a bit or range (312 miles), correct?

Great piece and great article on the original purchase. Love the interior. I think you could bring those seats back and preserve them with dedicated Leatherique treatment. I’d also get the front bumper re-done. “The Market” has rendered all ‘99 - ‘01 996s as “worthless.” But behind every failure rate there is a

Porsches can do a lot of things, but they are are infamous for NOT being good drag racing machines.

OK, I’ll answer. Here in the reality of 2016, it’s amazing how anyone (outside of the Klan, I guess) would choose to disparage black women with the explanation of the name of his truck.

Personally, I would only share your truck’s name in private....
