Who really thinks this is a good idea? I can see just about anything I want for free. What would make me want to rent something for money, and have it stuck in the Apple ecosystem.

@EvanSei (lord of the gerbils): Not that I disagree. As I said your setup sounds cool, but I was offering commentary on your statement that it was a lot of work. Simply, I would argue cutting two fan holes and a vent for an air filter is less work than building an entire entertainment center.

Yeah, this already happens. It's called parole. People serve some of their sentence inside and then they let them out with an ankle tracking device and sometimes a gps unit. They get a parole officer and they have to go see him/her every once in awhile, after that, they may have probation as well.

The speed test was cool, but did anyone else notice how black the iPhone 4's LCD was? Impressive black levels for a cell phone, especially compared to the previous generations.

@Dabamasha: You get what you pay for. If you spend a little extra on hardware, you get quite a bit more laptop in my experience. I bought the XPS line for not a whole lote more, but got much better hardware and after 2 years, not a single problem. If you buy cheap, you get cheap. People want cheap computers, so…
