Depends on the kind of offroader you are. Most of the really hardcore offroad guys want manuals because of self-serviceability and just because they actually like them better.

I get your point about Harley, but quality sunglasses really are worth the money. The optics, hinges, and finish are miles and miles above those cheap ass Puggs you buy at Speedway.
Good ole Harley, missing the mark by overpricing and under delivering.
Did 55% of you not read the same article as me? What part of 175,000 mile M5 with questionable mods did you miss? Too expensive for my taste, I would prefer that it be appreciably stock for that much. CP
In all likelihood they burned it off on the exhaust since you can see they had it wrapped.
Previous shop I worked at, we would use a combination of straps and chains, way more effective and not prone to getting burned off. Handled over 1700whp multiple times without breaking a sweat.
Maybe use more than just one?
I’ve got to say this is far from worst case for having a strap break on Hellcat dyno run. Also, I’d suggest these guys start to replace their straps more frequently.
It took 14 seconds from the first sighting of flames to get a fire extinguisher discharged. In a small room where 4,000 pound machines are furiously igniting gasoline under pressure while strapped (poorly) to a half-assed treadmill. What were these goobers expecting might happen? Obviously they are too busy thumbing…
The dude didn’t tighten his manifold rivets. It probably popped a warning on his laptop, but he kept going. Seen it a thousand times....
The fellow in the driver’s seat felt something break, and stood on the brakes. Rear brakes are not designed to stop the inertia of a dyno roller.
This “side loaded brakes” thing makes literally zero sense. In order for it to flex enough to cause THAT much drag the wheel bearing and hub would have had to been broken or this would happen anytime anybody gets a little sideways because the dyno is not “forcing” it to track straight any more than a road would be…
A car sitting in a garage makes 0 horsepower.
Saturn Ion
That just isn’t fully true. Of course you won’t get it back dollar for dollar, but mods can and do add value in plenty of cases. It may be a a low rate, maybe .5 or .33 or less of what you put it, but they can add value.
Maybe. The only one in my area for around this price has 225,000 miles, and there are two with similar mileage that cost at least 50% more. So it depends where you are, since S2000s are so much more scarce than Miatas.
Exactly! I was ready to vote CP once I read the title but seeing as how the owner used Flyin’ Miata and not only did engine work BUT suspension work qualifies it for a NP.
I like that Koenigseggegeegeg is upset about their car’s perceived auction value, but seemingly unbothered by its association with an African dictator who has stolen the money to buy their vehicle.
Agree regarding pretense but the Ford is objectively better in almost every statistic except price. It is apples and oranges. Design/appearance matters more than speed when you are spending six figures.
C8 won’t be worth twice in 10 years
Agreed, it doesn’t make a lick of sense. This car screams hardcore track toy... and yet it is missing one of the key ingredients for the intended application.
