People obviously have different releationships with their phones because I don’t find the SMS option anywhere near infuriating. Even if you don’t make a habit of staring at your phone, if you’re waiting for an important message, it feels like a small inconvenience to increase the volume and turn on vibrate to make

That public defender will absolutely be laughing about this as well, don’t you worry.

They were definitely holding their composure - you could literally see a small smile on the guy on the right.

lol right, had I been the judge the first words out of my mouth would have been, “Tha Fuck” but being the judge and defendant are both black I am surprised the judge didn’t just blurt out “N word is you stupid!!” That’s some next level dumb on the defendant’s part, right up there with that, I think, rapper passing off

Easiest case to prosecute? Literally phoning it in. :-D  Except it was the *defendant* phoning in the prosecution’s best evidence!

Someone needs to slap a Daytime Emmy on that judge, because he kept his composure in a way that I never in a million years could when presented with a dude, who couldn’t be bothered to be in court, who Zooms into his hearing about his suspended license, from behind the wheel of his own car.

I think the prosecution in this case is priceless. Holding your hand over your face to keep from laughing out loud is awesome. You KNOW she is taking this to friends and family for years.  “OK, you will not BELIEVE that this actually happened to me at work - one of the easiest cases I have ever had to prosecute.

The look on the judge’s face said everything, along with the long WTF pause. OMG do stupid things, win stupid prizes.

who was then allowed back on the plane with no issues

That stinks.

That’s the third important Coppola collaborator to die in a few weeks. There was wife Eleanor Coppola in April, longtime producer Fred Roos on May 18, and now Ruddy. As they were close to or over 90, there’s nothing really shocking, but if I were production designer Dean Tavoularis (92), editor Walter Murch (80) or

Yeah, he had a real Howard Beale vibe that day. Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean your society isn’t acutely susceptible to right wing demagoguery.

“It’s definitely one of their best, but it doesn’t stand out as a major stylistic departure to me?”

One of the reasons I love The Cure so much is their wildly different styles. Post-punk, Goth, Synth, Pop, hell they have a mariachi song in their catalog.

Starred for it being one of their best and certainly a song I would consider telling someone to listen to if I had to introduce the band with one song. That said, their catalogue does veer into something that sounds more like traditional pop fairly often - Friday I’m In Love, In Between Days, etc. And a fair number of

It’s definitely one of their best, but it doesn’t stand out as a major stylistic departure to me?

It was the first song I heard by them, so when I then heard their typical stuff I couldn’t believe it was the same band. I still really like this one, though.

Somebody needs to write the piece about the Judgement Night soundtrack someday, which is such moment-in-time thing so specific to the early 90s that helped form a generation of metal/rap white kid goons. It is both an incredible snapshot of that very specific pop culture moment, it involved just a murderer’s row of

Since it was written for the movie, I assume the whistling is mean to sound like birdsong.  But yeah that bass is just sleazy.  Love it.
