@MifuneT: Yes, sick as shit, but great for fuel economy. I had several long term rental cars from Avis that were equipped with this motor from 1999-2003 and I have to say that I was absolutely amazed every time I pulled 33 MPG on the highway traveling between eastern KY and NYC, Philly or Richmond, VA on a near

@SubcompactCulture: And that piece of shit was still more powerful than the 2.8L V6 that was in the S10, S15, Compact Buicks and the first round of Jeep Cherokees.

@seanx40: Oh. Gawd! This is the overall winner of the worst motor ever made. This is the only diesel I have seen that was not made by Caterpillar that leaked more oil than it burned.

The 2.8 Liter GM motor from the early to mid 1980s prior to Fuel Injection. Although, fuel injection did not help that much and the 2.5L 4 cylinder was a much better choice.

All Buicks esp the new LaCrosse. Although, the Lucerne name is more conducive to Brougham moniker.

@SagarikaLumos: That is called "Palm Beach Edition" in Florida.

Yikes.

OK Ford..... Do the right thing and make us a street legal Bronco kit with a decent motor.

I blame Ford. Jerry could not face the world without a fullsize - BOF sedan in production.

@Derfel: Best investment that I made a while back was one of these poppers. Although, I like the stove top poppers much better because of the caramelization of of the sugars in the popcorn.

@Death By Cornbread: If it were bone stock, I would question my own logic, but I have modified this with mega-huge sway bars and intake/exhaust mods to make it into a proper "touring" car and a rather enjoyable daily driver.

@rodrigotrigo: Civil Engineers used these to haul tripods/transoms that would not easily fit in an Expedition, Tahoe or Durango.

I would go back to driving a Jeep if they offered the Wrangler with a small V8 or with a good turbo diesel option.

@Triborough: I wanted a go-cart once as well. I was 12 years old and I grew up and got one of these for my 80 miles of daily commutting.

@nibby68: With enough room for 12 Apostles and his carpenter's tools plus the torque and longevity of the PowerStroke diesel, this is what Jesus would drive.

I would pay that amount if I could swap it into my Grand Marquis without replacing the computer that is currently in the car.

For 1965, this car was well ahead of its time. The full moon hubcaps really set off the look as well.

I think the solution to the problem would be to build better suspension setups with upper and lower control arms that have hinge points that allow the tire to move up and down while maintaining the proper camber over the range of travel.
