There is a certain cool factor that goes with the Village People that kinda makes the gay thing seem less painful and much more funny.

@Murilee Martin: How did I know rental car before I read your post? :)

@87CapriceEstate: The Crown Vic must not have been able to make the trip so Murilee probably rented the 300 as it is the least expensive rear driver in National's fleet.

@dal20402: Honestly, look at the interior shots and notice that the HVAC controls and radio are AMC and not from Renault. Under the hood, parts that were "poor quality" from Renault were replaced with AMC sourced equivalents that worse than the parts from Renault.

@Racin_G73 - dirt track legend (some day ... maybe): I have never seen used motor oil burn so violently to cause that big of a fire. Hell, 99% of the time, the motor oil has to vaporize and then the vapors burn when I use it to motivate combustion of an old, damp moldy tree stumps at The Compound in Kentucky.

Why is this not on Lifehacker???

Holy crap. I spent a year working in the ghetto called North Philly and never saw anything on that level.

@MarionCobretti: Based on the update from Murilee, they are probably regretting the choice of cobbled together parts from the old Vette and not going with a proper carb on that old block.

@Roberto Grijalva: Doesn't a 2.3 badge automatically force the driver into a walk of shame?

@Roberto Grijalva: I knew this was a 79-82 with the vertical slides on the HVAC controls, but then I saw the picture below and realized it was definitely a 1st gen fox Mustang.

@Buzzboy7: Much too late as the engine options in 1992 were a 5.0 L V8 and a 2.3 L I4. According to the literature that I see, the V6 was not even an option in this year so this car is definitely a four cylinder.

Yikes! That would have been perfect for 1955 but for 1966, it was awful.

@ccc40821: That is how I felt one year ago when a poorly designed water drain on the wiper motor housing shorted out my #8 coil and gimped my Grand Marquis by reducing it to 7 Banger. Glad I have a garage with extra coils for just an occasion.

I thought water hazards were for golf and the Daytona 500.

Is it just me or did they grab a junkyard Chevy 350 from some period before 1985 and cobble a bunch of Vette parts on it to make it look like a stock motor??? Even the oldest of C4 Vettes had an ECU that was more powerful than all the computers on the Space Shuttle combined.

I have always been a fan of Conan and the Late Night show, but when he moved to LA, I moved my dial to Letterman/Fallon.

@z0iid: And the horse you rode in.

It looks like this was built to be a rice rocket and block raced. Automatic crack pipe.

Brilliant. Priceless.
