Star for Hail Cesar reference.

C’mon man. “Go back to Africa” has a well known history of being used by white supremacists. If a phrase has ever been used by a group of people while beating the shit out of somebody, it doesn’t count as neutral any more. Saying “go back to Australia” or whatever is substantively different.

I promise you beyond a shadow of a doubt that that is a fan creation. Given their incessant love of exposition do you really think there’s *any* chance at all the prequels would not have made that explicit if that was “what was really happening.” If we want to apply that as something less shitty post-fact, sure, but

Was it? I literally couldn’t get through it.

Which please please please be because they are going to launch “Power Man and Iron Fist” and/or “Daughters of the Dragon”...

Counterpoint maybe: G’Kar and Molari were able to do a hell of a lot of emoting through prosthetics in Babylon 5 and were the best part of the show (though at least Molari’s prosthetics were mostly constrained to his head/hair.

Is “Instagram Celebrity” somehow better?

Umm, yes, scamming government safety net programs is indeed quite difficult. Sorry what point are you trying to make?

Sorry think you misspelled “somewhat tonedeaf career public servant who was ruthlessly character assassinated”

I’m 45 and I have a better hairline.

Counter-counterpoint: My washer is front loading, won’t run water when the door is open, and out on our deck not near a sink. That said, throwing the cup in with the laundry also works...

Unless he has said stuff in his feed, the photos of the guy in the blue shirt just looks like he grew a beard and is showing an affinity for hip hop music. His skin tone doesn’t look different at all.

Pretty much anytime someone says *anything* is apolitical (sports, the supreme court, etc etc), you can pretty much expect it’s bullshit of the highest order...

Jesus this is a terrible take. I voted for. I don’t *care* which time we are on, just pick one. The swapping back and forth is what I am voting against, and I’d do it for a proposition that just put us on GMT too.

Well yes, there’s nothing particularly remarkable about the play, just the execution of being able to pull that ball back that late and shovel it in a single motion.

And from all of the “how to be on jeopardy” things I’ve read if you wait to see the light that says “buzzer is active now”, it’s too late - you need to learn to time Trebek’s voice (or rather the PA who hits the button to activate them after Trebek finishes speaking).

I guess it depends what you mean by “city”. SF is a city. San Jose is a city. I don’t think of places like Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Redwood City, etc cities, but rather towns.

Yeah local halloween store had a whole Native American section, which was like...what?

I’m with you. I saw it in the theatre, but after it had been there for at least weeks, so I knew perfectly well it was fake, but it still scared the hell out of me. I mean, so did The Ring, and there was never any doubt about its veracity (or rather lack thereof).

Palo Alto certainly isn’t a sleepy college town (wasn’t even really when I grew up there in the 80s), but it certainly is not a city and it’s not really part of SF (or San Jose, which it is closer to).
