I just hope they do something closer to the source book in tone. I was very disappointed by the much lighter, less morally ambiguous flavor of the movie (specifically Kay in the comic is pretty much straight up Lawful Evil which made for a much more interesting dynamic).

Oh yeah, the big eyes make her look a lot younger. I’ve never really thought about how old she’s supposed to be, but in Snow White she looks like late 20s, and here she looks like a teen.

So Elsa freezes people, Merida shoots them, Moana smacks people with an oar, whatshername from Tangled has sweet hair powers, and Pocahantas....stands there?

I agree, and sorry if I implied otherwise. There are plenty of fun, harmless initiation rituals performed by all kinds of organizations, including Greek ones, and there are of course some examples of non-Greek organizations (like marching bands) doing stupid, mean-spirited, dangerous shit like this as well. Wasn’t

Hmm. I can’t quite tell from the video, but that would change things, though it seems like no way in hell a ref could see that from 20-30 yards away.

“i mean, i am all for persecuting frats that engage in truly harmful & demeaning hazing rituals... but throwing chicken nuggets at each other is not that.”

Christ these stories make me sad. I mean, when I was in college (Cal Berkeley, early 90s) I was in the marching band and we did an initiation (probably technically hazing) where the seniors would go paint the big ‘C’ up in the hills red (rival Stanford’s color) and then we got “taken” from the uniform demonstration by

Geez. I feel like the hulk because I can still lift my ~50lb son over my head with one arm (disclaimer: I only do this in the pool). Otoh, I’m 45 and not a professional athlete.

/me calls CPS about a 12-year-old drinking beer.

So the only thing I can think is that he raises his hand over his head quickly like he’s going to smack him, but then he brings it down slowly and just kind of pats him, but somehow the ref thought that he came down with the same force he went up?

I mean, it *could* be staged, but I don’t find anything baffling about the idea that just because you’re willing to *threaten* hitting someone with a hammer/shooting someone that you don’t want to actually do it, especially to an old man.

I think she gets infected with Asgardian something or another that only the McGuffin can fix? Or was that Thor 1? Seriously Thor 2 is such a blur (and Thor 1 was merely all right), I could easily be confusing them.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking (there being a serious, possibly earth-destroying consequence - your guess vis a vis Skrull/Kree war seems like a decent one).

Oh god someone other than me remembers this goofy-ass cartoon. I remember really liking it, and I’m sure it doesn’t hold up, like, at all.

That seems like it would be hard to shoehorn in.

“Exactly, and if you add that magic letter by 65 women who knew him in high school... That’s an awful lot of women and girls to know at that age”

Nope. Not really a pet person in general.

See i don’t really have a problem with Starfire, at least it looks...intentional. Raven looks like she bought an off the rack Harry Potter outfit and spruced it up at Hot Topic.

You know how people own big (like 100lb+) dogs? You know how people don’t own cats that big? That is because a cat that big would murder them. I cannot even sleep with a cat in the room.

You call this hating? Here’s my hot take:
