As you say any casting could be potentially problematic, but I also think any casting could be forgiven or even appreciated if the show tells a good story (and this being a comic book show, has good action…

Boo. This makes me sad. I have generally enjoyed the Marvel Netflix series more than most (or at least more than most whose opinions I read on internet message boards), but these early reviews are...problematic.

I don’t think it’s useful to think of it as “fooling people” in to thinking you’re a different race. If Dolezal is just “fooling people”, then screw her the same way I’d say to screw the mythical teen boy pretending to be trans to get into the girls bathroom (and note ‘mythical’ in that sentence).
