People are cheap, and they don’t understand how important tires are. I would see this on Audis all the time. Apparently you can put a price on safety.

Just commenting from the perspective of a former Audi tech. Our equipment was astronomically expensive, took up a ton of space, and would be pretty much obsolete in a few years.  That was just for one brand.  It’s a lot cheaper for a body shop to just drop the car off for final calibration and clearing faults.
