Democrats accept the science of climate change, but a large part of them (not Obama and many party leaders) oppose deploying more nuclear power, which according to the IPCC, the IEA, Dr. James Hansen, Jeff Sachs and the DDPP and every scientific study ever done is the most serious way to reduce carbon emissions.

I am supporter of advanced reactors including thorium. But the truth is that the biggest problem is paranoia, not risks. If you believe the largest study by the WHO and many other scientific agencies that no one died from radiation in Fukushima or will ever die from it, you begin to realize the real risk is paranoia.

Very much appreciate the non-paranoid approach to this article, particularly compared to others. The plant spilled tritium onto its undeground system and was properly caught by its test wells. It is NOT an ongoing leak. In fact, I wouldn’t call something that has no chance of going outside Entergy’s property a leak at
