I adore Kate Winslet, but Zellweger was absolutely perfect in this.
Someday we’ll find the person that Chris Hemsworth doesn’t have good chemistry with, I assume.
Thor Ragnarok is the best Marvel movie yet made. Fight me.
Poor Thor listening to Bruce like, “I liked him better when he was always angry.”
It’s all the fault of that book “From the mixed up files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler”...
Eh, I think the baby doll—it’s just a plain ol’ store bought doll—is kind of the misunderstood key to Eastwood’s ethos as a director. The story goes that the baby got sick and the alternate didn’t show up. So Eastwood sent a PA to a toy store. Because the man does not get behind schedule and he doesn’t stand around.
It’s treatment of the kids was fair as well. Cusack wasn’t celebrated as some sort of directionless slacker sticking it to the man. He recognized fully that he hadn’t found his way yet. His peers liked him because he was a nice, thoughtful guy and not some studly cool dude. I thought it was a pretty honest portrayal…
Thank you John, for this scene that kicks me square in the feelings every time I watch it.
Me too - I’d have guessed he was 10 years older, but of course his role on Frasier probably had a lot to do with that.
He was 77 when he died? Damn, I figured he was 77 during the show. Hell, Kelsey Grammer’s only 15 years younger than he was.
Let’s be honest. Even The Next Generation got more mileage out of the Maquis (Preemptive Strike) than Voyager did.
Paris was supposed to be good ole Nick Locarno, but the writers didnt want to pay royalties. It is a shame, because they could have gone so far with the Locarno character.
There was so many missed opportunities with Voyager’s crew:
I like the way you put this. I’d say DS9's characters were constantly challenged to maintain Starfleet ideals because they had to deal with other civilizations and people who didn’t share those ideals on a daily basis (Kira, Odo, Quark). None of the other series did that - even the Marquis on Voyager were swiftly…
I think they deal with the same themes. They just go about it in very different ways.
I LOVE DS9. But...I can see her point. Especially as a TNG actress.
DS9 is probably the best (and certainly my favorite) Star Trek installment, but it’s definitely not the most Star Trek of the Star Trek installments, and I understand why some people basically feel like it wasn’t true to the spirit as a result.
I love me some Marina Sirtis, but DS9 is objectively the best Star Trek series, and I assume there will be no nitpicky debating on this subject to follow.
I like how she will straight up tell Picard he’s wrong — even in the early seasons.
