One of my cousins is like that. She and one of her sisters used to share a room, and apparently her sister would occasionally wake up in the middle of the night to find her standing right next to her (the sister’s) bed, eyes wide open, staring straight ahead like a serial killer.

Sleep paralysis for sure. I suffer from this too and before I knew what it was, it was simply terrifying. Of course, 90% of my experiences were the ‘menacing presence’ kind- but I also always got this feeling of something mainly invisible crouching on my head, and I would feeling this AWFUL electric feeling passing

OMG! Kind of like sleep paralysis, except you’ve been dreaming of the little fucker for awhile.

Last week I watched “The Nightmare” the doc about sleep paralysis on Netflix. Highly recommended, however it will scare the pants off you. Perfect Halloween viewing!!

I’m not superstitious or particularly religious, but I believe kids can see/sense shit. My little sister’s “imaginary” friend growing up was a girl who “drown-ded and was waiting for her new family”. She told our mom all about the little girl and how she was living with us until she found a new family. She described

I read your story yesterday but had to come back and find it today so I could blame you for last night’s nightmare.

So, not scary, but scarylarious about sleepwalking. My brother in law is a sleepwalker, especially after he’s been drinking. Years ago, when he and my sister were in the early years of their relationship, the three of us came home from college and were staying at my parents house the night of our annual neighborhood

All of a sudden I can’t move, can’t breathe, can’t fight this thing off of me. It unhinges its jaw like a freaking snake and makes the worst screeching noise I’ve ever heard (like metal on metal, almost) and slowly starts bending down into my face. That’s when I hear “WAKE UP.”

That’s terrifying, but I couldn’t help but laugh at “Douchey McSpookypants”

I second the sleep paraylsis. I get it too, and it is horrifying. Except for me I never see a physical manifestation, it’s only an evil presence. Sleeping in a cold room, or sleeping on your back can trigger it. Which sucks because I can only fall asleep on my back.

noooooooooo. holy hell, that last one though...

1) Thank you for actually posting the photo, that never happens on these threads! and 2) HOLY SHITBALLS GET OUTTA THERE

Sleep disorders run in my family, and I must say that while I am used to shit like that (or like a five year old hooked onto the bed by their toes hanging over the top bunk proclaiming I CAN SEE YOU HELP US HELP US ALL) it’s always funny to me when my 40+ year old cousins terrify guests with their night terrors. All

My nephew is like that. Sometimes when he spends the night, he will walk up to us, animatedly speak jibberish, and then go back to bed.

When I first started dating my now husband he used to have dreams like this. His demon manifested itself as a yellow mist that would begin in the basement and come up the stairs. He kept having these dreams where it would get closer and closer to him. He even had them when I stayed over. We would start jerking in his

HOLY CRAP! THAT IS TERRIFYING ON MULTIPLE LEVELS! FOR HER! FOR YOU! FOR HER!

“Frankly, the creepiest stories I ever heard from him were how his step-son would sleepwalk with his eyes open, often wandering into their room and just standing there next to the bed.”

Poaching two stories from people I know:

I’m pretty sure I’ve never shared these stories here. Apologies if I have!

About 4 years ago, my boyfriend and I moved into a duplex just outside the city. The first day I was all alone in the house, I started thinking that I was seeing things out of the corner of my eye. Flashes of lights and shadows. I never ever had that sensation at my old place. It happens from time to time, but not
